We are producers of films , promoters of concerts and
festivals, and the publisher of the
Food in the Arts website.Timothy Foster makes site specific audio installations and digital
films
for gallery and online exhibition. We have a
wide background in film production and experience in presenting
music and film festivals in Europe. Timothy Foster, the founder of
Silent Sound Films, formerly worked for the companies of Lord
Attenborough and Lord Puttnam. Formerly, he taught fine art and art
history at the City Literary Institute, The City University and the
Central University of Iowa. He is a writer and journalist and has
published many articles and reviews, particularly on contemporary
art, in the UK and USA. While living in the Southern Netherlands, he
helped co-ordinate the second Reder European Junior Piano Festival.
In London he has organised concerts of new music at the Royal
Festival Hall, Purcell Room and St. John's Smith Square and most
recently he founded the Harwich Film Festival, now in its fifth
year. In 1998 and 2000 he programmed the films for the London Food
Film Fiesta and in 2001 he began developing the information site
which now extends to 400 pages, having grown into an international
discussion about food and its connection with the arts. He is a
Churchill Fellow and Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. His
drawings have been exhibited at the Hayward Annual (1982.) and a
painting at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition (1981.)
